Happy Christmas Mates

The other day I asked Tiarna if she wanted to hand out Christmas cards to her school friends and she said yes... so the next question was whether she wanted shop bought ones or handmade, and she said handmade - "Handmade is nicer" biggrin. In previous years I have given them pre-stamped images to colour but this year I let her stamp her own (I had other things to do!), she then coloured them, we worked out colours and layering, cut the cardstock and then Tiarna put them all together. These were her cards, the koalas for friends and the roo for her teacher:

Towards the end of card assembly yesterday she asked me if she would have time to play on the computer before dinner. I had to answer no for the BBQ was nearly done, and I was expecting a disappointed girl negotiating card completion after dinner and bath, but instead she replied "that's ok, making cards is fun!" Confirmation I am raising her right wink.

Surfing Santa

Last weekend The Aussie Stampers forum had a cyberstamp, and the first challenge was to create a Christmas card with sparkle. Well, I opted to start with the last challenge, to use an uninked stamp (will show you that one later), but I always intended to come back to the first challenge. Unfortunately I didn't get to finish the card till this week!

Santa was stamped on watercolour paper using StazOn Jet Black and coloured using an aquapainter and inkpads (all from the Bold Brights family... I decided Santa was definately feeling bold this day), with some white gel pen to bring out his beard and I went over his glasses with a black marker. I then highlighted parts of the waves with some Ice Stickles and Kindy Glitz. Both Santa and the sentiment are from the Happy Christmas Mate set.

Christmas Swap

I recently took part in a Christmas card swap among the Elite Stampers. This was my card:

I used the Aussie exclusive set Happy Christmas, Mate. Santa was coloured with watercolour crayons and an Aquapainter and the waves were cut using the cutting kit. All stamping done in StazOn. A little more detailed than the other Christmas cards I have posted this year, so I'm not sure if this one will end up a mass-produced one for mailing out in December... but cutting those waves sure was fun!
