Inklings Cyberstamp Challenge 3

The last challenge that I set for the Inklings cyberstamp last week was simply to use some metal, preferably an embellishment that you didn't use very often. For me it's eyelets - I just find brads a lot easier to use and give a "cleaner" look (it's the hole... showing what is underneath... for some reason it just doesn't sit right for me). When I do use eyelets it's usually in this way, along the spine of the card and then threading something through it... so I guess I wasn't very adventurous with carrying out my challenge but hey, at least I did it! I decided to combine this challenge with Kristina's latest colour challenge, although the first card I made I lost track of what I was wanting to do and it ended up blah... so I missed the deadline for Kristina's challenge but such is life. I loved the colour combination (well, it does have Taken With Teal in it...) and took the opportunity to do something non-descript with them - I think this card could work for guy or girl.

Snappy Crabby

Here's a simple birthday card using another set from this month's SU! birthday special. This little guy looks anything but crabby but I just can't help myself calling him that! For a change I went back to my roots and pulled out my watercolouring pencils to colour in Crabby and his surrounds, then blended the colours with an aquapainter. Once the I had coloured him in I used a scalpel to cut around the larger part of his claws so I could slip the sentiment in so it looked like he was holding it up. I kept the rest of the card pretty simple, a little background stamping and some twine to finish it off.

Thank You Stems

Still on the cyber night topic, I made this card in response to the Aussie Stampers forum challenge to use an uninked stamp. Well, Stem Silhouettes had just arrived at my doorstep, so I thought it was a no-brainer. The bunch and sentiment are from Stem Silhouettes, the background spots are from the Itty Bitty Backgrounds set. Colours are Night of Navy, Barely Banana, Summer Sun and Old Olive. The best thing about this card - it won me the challenge! I shall have some AED stuff arriving on my doorstep in the not too distant future
