Pretty Papers II

Not sure, but this one might be more Christina Rei paper. Gorgeous shimmery chocolate. I know it also comes in a charcol too (must've completely used that sheet up!). Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstock. Frame from Finials and Frames and sentiment from Warmest Regards both stamped in Chocolate Chip. Frame has been coloured with bronze metallic pencil. Once again not sure on the origin of the ribbon.
This card is probably my favourite of the pretty paper ones because the colours are so different to what I would normally pick. It's another colour variation of the Christina rei paper I posted yesterday. Frame and Sincere Salutation sentiment stamped in Chocolate Chip on Cool Caribbean (great colour match to the paper), then the frame was coloured with a gold metallic pencil. A bronze satin ribbon is layered under the satin-edged gold oranza ribbon, and a couple of Antique Brass Hodge Podge brads finish it off.

HB Memo

I felt a desperate need ro play with some purple, so thought I'd pull out another Spring Mini set and get playing. This is Office Accoutrement (with a Warmest Regards sentiment tossed in too). The large flower was stamped twice, once with Pale Plum, and once with Elegant Eggplant, the eggplant trimmed to the outside, the plum trimmed to just the inner part. The small flower was stamped in Perfect Plum and then they were all mounted together. I stamped three of the small word stamps on Sahara Sand, Pale Plum and Whisper White using Elegant Eggplant and punched them out using the fab new tab punch (also available in the Spring mini). Two of these are attached to the back of a piece of Certainly Celery that was stamped with the memo in StazOn (sentiment in Ellegant Eggplant), the Whisper White one is attached to the front with two celery brads. The final piece is the calendar, stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Whisper White, trimmed and the date marked with the celery marker (though it's a bit hard to see in the photo). All mounted on a Perfect Plum card base. Nice and purple, hehehe

Rusty Tree

Today I decided I had had enough of NOT stamping, and set to to get creative again. I picked out a set, thought of who I would send it to and why... and nothing! It took a while to get the brain into gear, but finally I got there:

I inked the tree by using the Old Olive inkpad on the tree top, then used the Really Rust marker to ink the trunk and some branches and the Garden Green marker to ink the grass and some leaves. I then coloured the tree trunk with a blender pen, using Creamy Caramel and a touch of Close to Cocoa, and I filled in the grass with Garden Green. I sponged the leaves with more Old Olive and added some dots of True Thyme to add some subtle depth. The Buckaroo Blue sky was also added with the blender pen. I was going to layer the tree (stamped on Naturals Ivory) on Garden Green (inspired by Marelle), but in the end it just didn't look right and I went back to trusty Old Olive, then layered on Buckaroo Blue. For the card base I inked my Print Pattern with VersaMark and went around the edges of the diamonds with the Creamy Caramel marker. The sentiment is from the level 1 hostess set Warmest Regards, and I inked that with the Really Rust marker. The tree layers are mounted on dimensionals. This card didn't quite turn out as I had hoped, but it was nice to get back into the saddle (I just hope it's not too long before I stamp again!)
