Colour Challenged Bird

This morning I have uploaded another card over at the Elite Challenges blog, this time for the "Barely a Breeze" colour challenge. In quite a contrast to yesterdays card that was full of colour, todays card has a lot of white space. In the above snippet you can see the little bird that I paper pieced, by first stamping it on patterned paper, trimming, then sticking it over the same image stamped on white. To see the full card and product details, check it out at the Elite Challenges blog.

KW Colour Challenge #16

Kristina has posted her latest colour challenge, and even though I have other things I should be working on (eg atc swap, card swap...) this idea popped into my head pretty much straight away so I had a go. I mean, a pic of little baby booties, that just begged for a baby card! For a late afternoon photo this isn't too bad but I'll see if I can take a better one tomorrow so the pumpkin brads show up better. The doodling around the sentiment has been done with the fine end of a Basic Black marker, the hearts and dots on the pram have been done with a white gel pen then gone over with Soft Sky and Certainly Celery respectively so they have just a hint of colour. I've also shadowed the sentiment with Soft Sky tough it's hard to see in the photo. The stars are on little bits of dimensionals although when bending the prongs of the brad flat they get pretty squished but still raise them off the cardstock a bit.

All supplies by Stampin' Up!

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky
Stamp Set: Fun and Fast Notes
Inks: StazOn Jet Black, Soft Sky, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Fire Circle Rhinestone Brads, star punch, dimensionals, dauber, white gel pen, Certainly Celery marker, Soft Sky "marker" (blender pen + reinker), 3/16" corner rounder, Certainly Celery Prints paper

Blame it on the Paisley

I just couldn't help myself... this idea wouldn't leave me alone! I spent some time yesterday cutting out bits of paisley from all the images I stamped up for Kristina's colour challenge, then sticking them on to another image of the Paisley and then just adding a bit of ribbon to finish it off. Idealy, or not depending on your opinion of the sanity of the idea, I would've cut out everything, but it was taking forever and I had other things to do. I also contemplated popping some bits up on dimensionals, but you've got to draw the line somewhere...

All supplies by Stampin' Up!

Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Paisley
Inks: River Rock,
Purely Pomegranate, Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi
Accesories: Whisper White taffeta ribbon, Fairytale Ribbon Originals

Happy Dragon

Finally I have something to share with you! This card was actually made a while ago, but I kept forgetting to take a photo, and then I kept forgetting to put the photo on the computer. This card was for my daughter who is dragon mad... for the last 4 or 5 years I have made her a dragon card for her birthday. I've used all of my dragon stamps over the years (6 at once when she was 6), so instead of repeating a stamp I thought I'd try a Greg Sukendro piece published in Atamping & Papercraft last year (I think...). This is half the size he had it (and slightly larger than a standard A6 card). I tweaked a few things (for one, used metallic card and paper instead of Bazzill because dragons should be shimmery and my Bling didn't arrive in time), the template wasn't perfect but I still think he came out pretty well, and my daughter loved it.

Daisy Dreams

You know sometimes when you get an idea and it won't leave you alone until you've tried it out? This was one of those ideas: combining the large Scribble This flower with the EK Success Whale of a Punch Daisy.
Add some matching doodling/scibble to the punchie and they match wonderfully! The flowers have been done on various colours of salvaged batik paper, doodling done with the fine end of a black marker and stamping done in StazOn black. The cardbase is Summer Sun, layered with some salvaged marble paper. The Everyday Flexible Phrases sentiment is stamped on Pretty in Pink and punched with the Word Window punch, layered on a Basic Black small oval. Brads are from Art Stamps Australia, ricrac is unknown. I've used a Crystal sticker for the flower center.

And here's another card with the colours rearranged a little (though in this instance the background paper is batik paper). Cardbase is Regal Rose, sentiment is stamped on Pale Plum.

Mother's Day card

Here's the card my 7 year old designed for MIL:

She sketched the design to start with, we consulted a bit, and this was the end result. Can't remember what company made the sky or the grass, the butterflies are the yellow version of that All My Memories paper I have been using lately. The butterfly stamps are by Amazing Creations. Flowers are Fiskars hand held plier type punchies with a black centre by SU Basic Black marker.
