Spotlight in the Sketch
The last sketch I played with this weekend was Taylor's cupcake challenge #17. The colours I used, Almost Amethyst, Sage Shadow, Regal Rose and Rose Red, came from ones I hadn't played with for a while (I was in withdrawal). The card base was a 10.5cm strip I cut from a 12x12 sheet of Almost Amethyst, to which then I punched the scallop edge by removing the guard from the 3/16" corner rounder, then measure from the deepest part of the scallop to the far edge and scored along the middle. The strip of Sage Shadow was also scalloped the same way and layered on a piece of Almost Amethyst Prints paper, on which the Occasional Greetings sentiment was stamped using Lovely Lilac ink. For the flower I stamped the stem and leaves on Whisper White using Sage Shadow ink, then used the Almost Amethyst and Regal Rose markers to ink the flower and then stamped it on a scrap of Whisper White. I then punched the flower out using the 5-petal punch and edged it with the Regal Rose marker. The petals are raised up on dimensionals but the flower center is flush with the other layer of Whisper White.
