Truly Purple

I'd just like to start by letting you all know that posts may not be as frequent as they usually are over the next week. Shaelea is home with the chicken pox, and as cool as it is that she can give a running commentary as I create a word document, I'm certainly not getting as much done each day as I normally do.

Long time readers of my blog will know I love my markers, and my favourite thing to do with them is to use them direct to rubber to ink up a stamp. Last night I needed a purple fix and to pull out my markers, and this is the card I created. It is based on Julee's Mojo Monday sketch for last week which I had been hankering to play and just didn't get a chance until then. The little flowers above the sentiment were punched out using the Boho Blossoms punch. Even though the punch was made to coordinate with the One of a Kind set, I love the shape of this flower and will use it on any 6-petal flower if I can! I had intended this card to just be Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive, but somehow my Almost Amethyst inkpad found it's way out onto my desk and so the small flowers were inked with that before going over the center with my Elegant Eggplant marker. I'm actually glad of that little "mistake" because I think the card would look a little bland without that added contrast. The sentiment was first stamped with VersaMark and embossed in white, then punched out with the small oval punch (which fits perfectly with this frame - gosh I love all the coordination, it makes everything so much easier!) and framed with some Styled Silver hodgepodge.
