Yet Another Twilight Card

I couldn't help myself and ended up making another card inspired by Twilight. This time, there is no red in sight! I've based this card on Bella's bed linen, although I swapped the plain and patterned sections around so the heart wouldn't be so lost in the middle. The strips of Perfect Plum were rolled up into coils, and rolled back on themselves numerous times to get a fine wrinkle look to them (which is hard to see in the picture).

Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft Vol 14 No 8

Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft Vol 14 No 8 is out now (although at the time of typing this the website hadn't caught up), above is one of four cards I have featured in the magazine. These cards were made with the Always set that was available in the Spring mini that ended in November, but hopefully it will make a reappearance in the new main catalogue in April. The colours I have used are Basic Black, Purely Pomegranate and Soft Sky, the later two only being available until March 31st so if you want to give them a try, or love them and want to stock up, you had better get your order in quick!

I submitted these when they put a call out for Valentines submissions, although they've only just been published in time for today... Happy Valentines Day every one biggrin.

KW Colour Inspiration #28

As you can see, I had a lot of fun playing with Kristina's latest colour challenge. The colours are quite autumnal, but the inspiration piece had me thinking of flowers from the get go and I think I was in just the right mood for them too. I started off making one card, then thought "the inspiration piece is a bag, lets make a bag for the card to go in". And if you are making a bag for one card to go in, you may as well make a few more cards to go in it. Above you can see all the items crammed into one little shot, but below are larger images of each item. I think "love you" is my favourite"

Cupid's Hatpin

I'm not usually one for really lovey-dovey cards, however the other day I pulled out the new Spring Mini set Celebrate Everything, all intent to play with the cute little owl image in it, when this idea popped into my head and demanded to be acted upon. I think the hatpin-as-arrow idea was born from discussion with my sister about the Pretties Kit and little I seem to see that hatpin get used. And I was just sticking this together when Kristina posted her colour challenge, I thought it rather funny that I already had two of the colours out!

To create the scallop rectangle I used the 3/16" corner rounder, that poor little thing has been getting such a workout from me lately! I plan on posting a little tutorial about how I created this, and other scalloped shapes, in a few days. I've also had a request for a tutorial demonstrating how I coloured the motif on my first KW #17 card, I hope to have that up in a couple of days as well.

Sankari also commented on my last card that she's enjoyed the "shows I was watching" bit in the card details - she's so on my wavelength! I found myself looking at the cards I'd made and getting a flash of the show/s I had on while making it; they seem to have become a bit of an integral part so it was natural to include them in the details.

KW Colour Challenge #14

Kristina has posted quite a different colour challenge this time! You may notice some new products on my card... that's because a Spring mini catalogue is on it's way and I received my pre-order yesterday. I had just finished mounting all my (die cut!) sets when I saw Kristina's challenge so just had to use some new stuff on it. The En Francais background was embossed with clear embossing powder, the Always heart embossed with white embossing powder and sections inside were coloured with a black marker. On the ribbon I have used a ribbon slide from the new Styled Silver hodgepodge - this stuff is gorgeous and I can't wait to play more!
