Another Priceless Card

A real quicky tonight... no offence to you guys but I wanna get stamping! Here's a card I made quite some time ago and forgot that I hadn't blogged it. But thanks to Sharon, it's here now for you. The card was made for a cyber night challenge, to create something inspired by your favourite mug. So my card was inspired by the SU! travel mug that I picked up at Convention this year... it was wonderful to get wrapped up in creating, reach for the long neglected cuppa and find it was still warm! And no fear of spilling tea on a hot-of-the-press creation (because it never happens when it's half made, or when you have barely started...).
All supplies by Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Basic Black, Going Gray, Brocade Blue, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: So Swirly, Priceless
Inks: VersaMark, Going Gray, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Styled Silver Hodgepodge, Ice Circle Rhinestone brads, 3/16" corner rounder, dimensionals, clear embossing powder

Resistance is...

I apologise in advance if this post is a bit... off. I didn't get around to preparing this earlier and I've just finished watching the LOST finale and I'm a bit... well "Jack, we are in shock" isn't a bad summation. Anyway... to the card!

This card was inspired by more bedding! I saw this Sheridan quilt cover in the Myer catalogue the other week and just had to make a card based on it. My method with this card was a little haphazard... living with an electrician does not mean you will be free from electricity related issues. I have asked for some time now to have a double powerpoint put in behind the desk so I can plug my heat gun in, and I am still waiting. Of course I could go out to the kitchen and heat emboss there, but you do it once and they say you can do it that way every time. Don't tempt fate! So, no emboss resist. I decided to give crayon resist a go on this one but I ended up rushing it a bit and didn't get everywhere I wanted to. Still, I can live with it (especially after seeing the sheets in the flesh - not as pretty as the catty pic!) and I do like how the card came out. I've used the Simple Delights Simply Sent kit stamps for most of this card, as well as once stamp from Baroque Motifs (there's no stopping it wink). I stamped the circular and square motifs on the gloss white card using So Saffron ink, let them dry thoroughly then went over it with a white wax crayon (the kids haven't noticed it missing). I then brayered over the whole piece with Soft Sky ink, buffed off the wax, trimmed it to size and mounted it to my So Saffron card base. I stamped the small flower along a piece of Close To Cocoa using VersaMark, dotted some 2-Way glue on it then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I attached this to the card front then stamped the sentiment using So Saffron ink.

Dotty For You

On Saturday night Jayne hosted an impromptu cyberstamp for the Elite Stampers (downlines of Angela Sargeant). This card was my response to the first challenge, to be inspired by this image:

I didn't feel like doing red and white, so I took the spots and hearts and used the bed a bit like a sketch. The patterned paper is from the Loves Me pack, and the only stamping is the Riveting sentiment, inked with Close to Cocoa and Regal Rose markers. Another simple card, but it was nice to finish something on the night of a cyberstamp!
