Here's a detail shot of a card I've uploaded to the Elite Challenges blog for this month's sketch challenge. This card uses a few products from the Spring mini, however what stands out for me in this section is how I have used the Rock n Roll technique by stamping off and then re-inking the edges of the decorative motif with the same ink. To see the full card and the list of products used, head on over to the Elite Challenges blog.

Thinking of Amethyst
I've been thinking of doing a tweak on these cards for a while, but it was only yesterday that it struck me I should skip the brads and do it in purple. I kept the base as Kraft and punched the layer instead of the base. When punching the base you have to do that first before scoring and folding the cardstock and I just wasn't up for that last night, I wanted quick and easy! I added a second ribbon - the gorgeous Kraft taffeta - and moved the sentiment. I wanted to add just a little more Baja Breeze than what was int he ribbon, so the sentiment has been layered on two small oval punchies which have been off-set in opposite directions. This has all then been layered on a large Kraft oval and mounted on the card front with dimensionals. All supplies by Stampin' Up!

Convention Swaps Part IV
This is actually the first card I did as a convention swap but I've ended up showing them all out of order... because I had to show you the Twilight ones first! This one was a bit of a lazy one too, because I had initially designed it for a "Card in a Box" for the Inklings team meeting a few weeks before. I made 20 of these, and was running out of Artichoke brads so created two other colour combinations (I even worked out another 2 colour combinations but never got around to making them). The Artichoke one was the only one that used Vanilla cardstock, so was the only one that I went over the white stitching of the ribbon with a Sahara Sand marker (so the white stitching didn't look so odd beside the Vanilla cardstock). All supplies by Stampin' Up!

Catty CASE Cyberstamp Challenge
As I mentioned before, we recently had the Inklings April cyberstamp. This was my card for challenge 2, which was to pick two numbers, put them together to make a 2-3 digit number, turn to that page of the catalogue and base a card or scrap page on a sample from that page. My numbers were 10 and 7 (my daughters ages after their birthdays this year), so my page number was 107. I had three cards to choose from, but I chose to be inspired by the first one as it seemed the most different to what I normally do (except it is landscape orientation and I seem to do a lot of those...). For those of you who don't know to CASE means to Copy And Steal Everything, though it tends to get used for any instance where you have deliberately copied a significant portion of a card and not necessarily everything (design, colours and products). I do have the Wanted set that was used in the sample but I was itching to use one of my new sets and settled on Bella's Bloom. My colours came from Dawn McVey's first colour challenge, which I thought were quite unexpected for this style of image but I think it works quite well. Earlier in the day I had also seen Dawn Easton's tutorial for creating a Curly Lable edge and was itching to try it out... so I went a little crazy with the Curly Lable punch! I love it when you find more uses for your punches (well, any product really, but I already love my punches so much!), not only does it open some creative doors but it makes the product even better value for money. All Supplies by Stampin' Up!

Cinema Saturday #26
This week's Cinema Saturday movie was My Fair Lady, a movie that I hadn't seen in full until this week (which is a side benefit of these challenges for me, getting me to watch movies I had previously missed). I drew on a few things for my card, probably the most obvious being the art nouveau style of the interior decoration (namely the wallpaper at Mrs Higgins' house), and Eliza's ball gown (which was featured in one of the sneak peeks), with some of the Ascot dress thrown in for good measure (it looks white lace on cream to me). Flowers are also quiet prominent throughout the film, but I thought this sentiment was especially suitable for Eliza's journey in the movie. Both stamps are from new sets, and the DSP is from the absolutely gorgeous Bella Bleu pack. All supplies by Stampin' Up!
